Whenever you visit this site, my service provider records certain information about your visit. This information includes your IP address, the date and time of your visit, your web browser, your operating system, the pages you visit etc. This is collected to analyse user navigation trends and to improve my website.
I take great care with practices that affect personal privacy. All personal information collected (name, e-mail address, postal address etc.) is kept secure and is not disclosed to any third party, without your express permission. However, this information may be disclosed in the unlikely event of a tax audit or if a law enforcement agency exercises a warrant, subpoena, or similar. Terms and Conditions of Sale
By submitting an order, you are indicating you agree with these Terms and Conditions of Sale. All goods sold by Christopher de Haer remain his property until paid for in full by the customer.
General Terms and Conditions
Orders should be submitted by e-mail. Telephone orders are not accepted, and mail orders are only accepted via prior agreement.
When e-mailing please advise the reference numbers of the item(s) you wish to order, your postal address, and whether you wish for your order to be sent by ordinary or registered/extra cover mail. All orders/enquires will be answered with 24 to 48 hours, and are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once your order has been received, the stamps will be set aside, and you will be advised of the total cost of the order including postage.
Once I have set aside the stamps, payment must be received within five working days from Australian customers, with international customers being advised by e-mail how long the stamps will be set aside. If payment is not received within the stated time frame then the stamps will be put back on sale.
All payments must be made in Australian dollars only. I do not extend credit, offer an approval service or send stamps cash-on-delivery.
For Australian customers only, funds may be sent by cheque or postal order (made out to "Christopher de Haer" and sent to PO Box 1448, Booragoon WA 6954) or deposited to my bank account with the National Australia Bank in Australian dollars only. Bank account details will be advised by e-mail. I do not except credit cards. Paypal is not accepted for Australian orders.
International customers may pay by Paypal or by international BANK (cashier's) cheque or draft denominated in Australian dollars ONLY and payable at an Australian Bank. I do not accept credit cards (except via Paypal).
Stamps are not accepted as payment.
Postage and Handling
All mail is at the purchaser's risk. Consequently, registration/extra cover is strongly recommended.
Postage (always at prevailing rates) is extra. Orders for large miniature sheets, sheetlets, covers and postal stationery will often attract higher postage costs, than orders for stamps.
Registered post (within Australia only) with compensation up to $100, costs $2.90. For extra cover (within Australia only), add $1.30 for each $100 (or part thereof) over $100. For orders over $100, you can not have registration without extra cover, and you can not have extra cover without registration.
Overseas customers will be advised of postage and extra cover costs (if required). Both work much the same as above but at higher rates. Extra cover is NOT available to all countries. Please note that International Registered Mail exists only for documents and is inappropriate for orders.
Orders are dispatched within 24 to 48 hours of receipt of payment (for orders paid by cheque, orders will be sent after the cheque has cleared). I use quality collectable stamps on all orders, which are hand cancelled. However, Australia Post's sorting machinery will often 'cancel' the envelope with additional ink-jet cancels. I have no control over this.
I pride myself in supplying accurate information on the stamps I sell. All purchases have a money back guarantee for items returned by return mail because of condition or an error on my part. As all stamps sold by me are illustrated in colour in my price lists, stamps cannot be returned simply because of incorrect choice, or because of any defect described on the price list.
I often only have one example of each stamp/set for sale. Consequently, I have no better copies in stock to replace returned items.
If an item from a set needs to be returned, the whole set must be returned.
I am unable to assist customers who order stamps just to check if they have items only to discover that they do and then return part of the order for substitution or refund. Please order carefully.
Failure to abide by these requests negates any right of refund.
Condition of Stamps
All stamps are MUH (mint unhinged), reasonably well centred, full gum and defect free unless otherwise noted in the description. Earlier MUH stamps may not be well centred, reflecting the centring of the day.
Special cancels, and the cover they are tied to, are illustrated in the price lists. Requests for a specific stamp(s) on the envelope or for a certain position of the cancel cannot be accommodated. We aim to have covers with clear cancels, but as the covers are cancelled by hand this is not always possible.
I welcome all philatelic enquiries. I have over 20 years of experience to draw upon together with extensive philatelic resources. If I am unable to help then I will try my best to direct you to either another dealer or collector who may be able to help. However, the amount of time spent on enquires about stamp sales is directly proportional to the amount of purchases made by the respective customer. Also, I do not have all the answers.
